It’s amazing all the stuff you find on the internet that you had know idea was out there. I have talked much about mirrors, and I think this oddly falls in the same category: The internet is becoming a reflection of the world in quantified bytes of information… Have you been on Google Earth lately? It’s just a year or two a way from actually being a 100% replica of our planet in terabyte form. 100 years ago technology mirrored us in the form of photographs, now it mirrors us with random youtube videos, cell phone trackers, and social networking updates… I am sure in just a couple years, our entire lives will be documented completely by the mirroring internet. What a mysterious existence… anyway, not to get too out there, I just wanted to share some videos of what a typical summer day consists of…

Any successful gang leader will tell you that the longevity and continuation of any gang must be supplemented by a constant stream of new recruits. Even dangerous scooter gangs have to be on the look out for fresh new faces to pass along the flame of dangerous scootering. We felt the best way to find new members would be to go after the ‘easy to influence’ youths. Now, I am not quite sure how we got away with performing our radical stunts, out-of-control wheelies, and high kicks to Kenny Loggins singing ‘Highway to the Dangerous Zone’ (it must just be the soundtrack of our lives) …But I do know we left that day with the sworn loyalty of over 1200 nine year-olds… Yeah, we don’t mess around.

Oh yes, and a very special thanks to Melissa Murphy for making this one happen.

2 Seconds of Playing Astronaut

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

We took a fifty year-old rickety sailplane with no motor in the air to play astronaut… the actual game of playing ‘astronaut’ only lasted three seconds but it is the greatest game one could ever play. Get in a motor-less old air contraption and be ready for either the wings to rip off or for the best three seconds of your life!

Scooter Greatness happened when we left our homes on three ’80 cc Scooters’ and rode surface streets (top speed 36 mph) all the way to Saddleback Mountain. This was the genius idea of Rory Kelly who was trying to launch a new extreme sport called Scooter Mountain Climbing. In all, we made the 5700 foot summit in about eight hours. Total damage was about 2000 dollars. Extreme Scootering is expensive.

When you lock Tim Brandon in the studio for a twenty hour work binge, and only leave him with a camera, a 12 pack of Monster Energy Drinks, and some Charleston, one can only imagine what really goes on… We left Tim alone to analyze some promotion ideas and he came up with some pretty ‘interesting(?)’ work… This one is cute and as a rough draft gets the point across in 23 seconds… Check out some more antics at CMDmass.com.
