Seldom I force myself to remember that 40% of the world lives off less than a dollar a day… and when I do, I realize I have nothing to bitch about. This short clip was taken from my camera (worth a years salary there) as we were travelling north of Denpesar in impoverished parts of Indonesia. How did we get so fortunate to have our waste be carried off by a trash man once a week? or our roads be paved? Or to invent past times known as ‘travel’ and ‘vacation’? Or to have our number one killer in America be from over eating (heart disease)…? I don’t have answers to why our world and it’s resources are so wildly displaced… I just feel we have a huge obligation to do something with our ridiculous and superfluous amounts of wealth… please, any ideas?
